We drive from Llafranc towards Tamariu Up to the El Lighthouse Fra de Sant Sebastià. It was built in 1857 and is still the most light-strongest tower of the Spanish Mediterranean coast. From the lighthouse Sant Sebastià you have a spectacular view over land and sea. Deep down you can see the small boats lying in the port of Llafranc. A piece above the viewpoint is on the Cape Sant Sebastiá the baroque Pilgrimage chapel Ermita De Sant Sebastià from the 18th century.
Next to it is the hotel and restaurant “El Far”. The breathtaking view from the viewing terrace of the Mediterranean Sea, which changes in many different shades of blue, with its rocky bays and caves surrounded by pine forests, is fascinated. Originally, the hotel was a watch and lighthouse with a hermitage from the 15th century. In 1999 the property was renovated and transformed into a beautiful small hotel. We like to get married in this exposed location. We want to take the coastal path from here – Camin’s de Ronda (GR 92: red and white marking) to the Bay of Tamariu wander along. The route is indicated as 1.5 hours and starts directly behind the Ermita.
It’s already afternoon. The sun is shining high up in the firmament. Azure blue glitters the sea deep below us. Framed by rocks and the blue-green of agaves. Agave blossom stalks protrude into the sky blue. gulls circle. After a short stretch along the cliff and many steps, we dive into the cool of the pine forest. good footwear is advisable. The path meanders from time to time towards the coast until it emerges from the shadows in a forest clearing. It goes a bit along the gardens in the blazing sun. Deviating paths are marked with crossed red and white markings and lead to dead ends.
After about 10 minutes, our hiking trail turns right. You can already see the sea shining through the trees again. Ponies graze in the garden next to the path. Blooming thistles line the gorge. The shady path now leads steeply down into the Cala Pedrosa. The small bay welcomes us alone. Two fishing huts are on the edge. In summer, the sign at the hut promises refreshing drinks and snacks every day, otherwise on weekends. The bay is lined with stones washed up. The cool sea tempts. We plunge into the floods. The waves between the rocks splash clearly. El Cavall – is the name of the rock head in the sea. From the boat he should commemorate Stalin. We enjoy the refreshing tingling on the skin. A motorboat in the distance. nobody else. It’s June – a Friday afternoon before the season. Pure idyll. We are now prepared for the ascent from the bay. Step by step over roots and stones steeply up through cinnamon-colored rocks. The path widens and now runs straight up to one Mirador. Here you can get back to the sea via the rocky tongue. We continue towards Tamariu.
Soon the picturesque bay is in front of us. The path now leads over large rocky plateaus directly along the sea. Anglers sit here and couples lie in the afternoon sun. The colors of the rocks change from mud green to old pink and ocher to anthracite. The blue of the sea is getting darker and darker. The sun is slowly sinking. We long for a cold sparkling water and a café on ice. Soon we will reach the Tamariu Beach. Most bathers are currently still locals. In the beach hotel’s café there are enough free places and finally cold water in large quantities. The pensioners of the village are sitting next to us at Caféklatsch. The season is in the starting blocks – there is still a relaxed calm before the storm. Here you want to dream up the days relaxed. But the way back is waiting for us. Another 1.5 hours steeply up and down. So we set off again after half an hour’s break.
The sinking sun changes the colors of the bay. in the Cala Pedrosa is now movement. Grandmother, mother and child splashing in shallow water of the bay. Grandpa has unlocked the fisherman’s hut and put garden chairs in front of it. Weekend starts on Friday evening. We chat with the old man and order a refreshment. We get olives for free. He doesn’t expect other guests until the next day. Since the small bay has no access, everything must be transported by boat or on foot over the steep path. We prepare for the steep climb to Lighthouse. After an hour uphill we are back at the car exhausted. The evening light colors the bay Orange. Conclusion: A nice excursion for which you should bring a little more time, better condition, bathing suits, hiking shoes and plenty of drinking water.
dreamlike landscape And spectacular views of the sea and rocks are the reward of all efforts.
