Empuriabrava – largest marina in Europe

Empuriabrava – largest marina in Europe

If you look at Empuriabrava from the air, you can see a grid-shaped network of up to 30 kilometers of canals that meanders through the city. Many of the mostly white villas are right on the water and have their own jetty – no wonder that Empuriabrava is also affectionately called “the Spanish Venice”.

Empurivabrava boats

If we had only ever experienced the city from the street until now, we were looking for a completely new perspective today: a trip across the canal promised us variety.

We mingled unobtrusively with the tourists and rented a small electric boat. The nice Spaniard briefly explained the technology and it was off to a sway. We in the small nutshell: a shaky adventure for the time being! But after a short time we had the boat and wheel firmly under control and sailed relaxed across the water, looked at the Real Estate in Empuriabrava On the terraces and enjoyed the interesting perspectives on a life “behind the scenes”. Water as a lifestyle – how does it feel? In any case, one thing quickly became clear: Empuriabrava is a place best conquered from the water. And the lifestyle of the rich and beautiful is your own boat right in front of the terrace.

Started by every wave, no matter how small, we ventured further and further into the tangle of the water veins with our small motorboat. Some boat owners waved at us, shouted “Hola Guapas” and let Spanish charm spray, others overtook us with their huge yachts and we felt tiny next to them.

The memory cards of our cameras soon filled up with perfectly laid out gardens, Mediterranean-style houses, luxury yachts and happy holidaymakers – like us on a discovery tour.

The hour was over far too quickly when we discovered the idyllic and unique Empuriabravas far away from the busy streets.
The city with its wide sandy beach offers the inner canal system as a real attraction. If you yourself glide through the canals in a small rental boat or even with your own yacht, you will quickly feel that the attribute “Venice of Spain” may be a bit exaggerated – but nonetheless somehow applies.
